I worked as a game designer on The World Next Door as my first title at Rose City Games, a game that melded the match 3 and visual novel genres. My tasks included creating level layouts for dungeons, puzzle interactions, and the creation and balance of all of the systems in the game.

My favorite feature was the assist mode option we implemented in the game after viewing player feedback: enemies would continue to aesthetically damage the player but numerically they were invincible, allowing for players to feel tension and danger without the result of losing.
